The Meaning of a Meal

I love to feed people.  It is odd, because cooking isn't really my favorite thing.

But there is something about taking a meal to a sick friend. Or showing up with a "breakfast basket" for someone who is down.  It blesses people.  It blesses me.

In a little while I am headed with a meal to a friend who is having surgery today.  I had to tell her I was bringing it.  If I asked if I could bring it, she would say, "Oh, no, that's alright."  So I told her that we (her other friends and I) had a secret meeting behind her back and we are providing dinner for a week or so. Period. She laughed. She knew she was cornered.

Illnesses, funerals, blue days--food just makes people feel better. If you know someone who is ill or down and you have thought about taking them some food, do it.  Easy or elaborate, a meal hits the mark every time.

PS  Take a peek at takethemameal.com if you coordinate meals regularly.  It will make your job easier.

Wait a minute...this one is me! Yes, I am horrible about asking for, and accepting help! My family was SO happy to have a meal on a night they were prepared for fast food! We truly appreciated your generosity and love! (Even if the meeting was behind my back..) ;) loving catching up on your blogs!

I must show my respect for your kindness supporting those individuals that actually need help on this important theme. Your personal commitment to getting the solution all around turned out to be astonishingly informative and has in most cases allowed regular people much like me to realize their targets. The valuable guidelines implies so much to me and especially to my fellow workers. Best wishes; from everyone of us.
